1852, Communication from the Secretary of the Treasury, transmitting in compliance with a resolution of the Senate of March 8, 1851, the Report of Israel D. Andrews, consul of the United States for Canada and New Brunswick on the Trade and Commerce of the British North American Colonies, and upon the Trade of the Great Lakes and Rivers; also, notices of the internal improvements in each state, of the Gulf of Mexico and the Straits of Florida, and a Paper on the Cotton Crop of the United States.

Fair. Very attractive map, light, uniform cream tone. This map has undergone two sets of repairs. The first stabilized a long seam tear in the lower center right (this left a bit of an overlap, pictured), and a 4 inch tear where the map meets the cover, unfortunately not well aligned. The second, with archival tape, stabilized the map to the cover, and repaired several short tears and small voids at seam intersections. Scattered spotting, a few ~0.25-0.5 inch voids at seams. The back of the map and has a name inscribed in ink (no transfer), and was also used to do some calculations in pencil.  The map section centered on Florida is attached to the cover of the booklet that contained the map, the seam having been reattached with archival tape (all illustrated in the pictures). In spite of condition, this large map displays well, but would not be suitable for repeated folding and unfolding, it will need to be carefully unfolded and stabilized for framing.
